the Reverse Advent Calendar

Advent is a time of waiting… we wait patiently for the coming of something wonderful… of hope, of peace, of love.   We keep track of the days before Christmas…waiting for the gifts that we hope that we will receive. But here is something different…a backwards Advent Calendar! Instead of tracking days so that we can receive something, lets give something each day instead.  

Beginning on November 14th you are invited to decorate an Advent Box…and every day put something in it. At the end of 24 days, you will have an amazing gift box to give to the food bank for someone in need. There are suggestions for each day for a food item to add. If you have another idea, feel free to add that instead.   If you can’t fill a box by yourself, team up with some friends and do it together!

Boxes can be dropped off at the Cereal and Oyen United Churches on December 11th.
