Reverse Advent Calendar!

From November 14th to December 7th, we followed our Reverse Advent Calendar. 

Instead of getting something each day we gave a food item. At the end of our collection time we had boxes of food to offer to the food bank just in time for their Christmas Hampers. 

Every day, a Scripture and short meditation reminded us of how we are called to live God's way and look after each other. Facebook kept us up-to-date so that we wouldn't miss a thing!

Boxes of food were received from members of our Big Country United Churches. Half of the steps at the Oyen United Church was filled with food. We also received donations from community organizations and community members. We had some people who couldn't afford a full hamper join together to provide one with their friends...great team work!
