On Sunday, September 27th we gathered at the Community Hall in Cereal to say goodbye to our Minister, Rev. Helen Reed.
We were originally scheduled to be in the park, but our hosts (Cereal United Church) found themselves quickly changing plans to accommodate windy and perhaps cold weather. Following COVID guidances, attendance was by pre-registration, and chairs were set up with appropriate spacing with 38 people being accommodated. We are so very grateful for all those who came and showed their care for each other by wearing their masks throughout the indoor service.
Our service celebrated our time together... including the coming together of the new partnership known as Pioneer Pastoral Charge consisting of the four churches of Cereal, Oyen, Alsask and Acadia Valley. Members of all four churches were present and their voices helped create a meaningful service of farewell.
We remembered the promises we started with, we heard of how God has pushed and pulled us together through these years. Our beautifully draped table filled as symbols of community and faith were added to it.
Gifts were given and received.
The bulletin for our full service may be found on our website -- along with pictures and music recordings. https://www.bigcountryunitedchurches.ca/podcasts/media/2020-09-28-celebration-of-ministry-together
With gratitude for our faith and journey together...
