The Church is a storyteller. Throughout the year we tell stories of faith passed down from our ancestors and we tell our stories of how we are living as God's people now.
One of the ways we do that is to mark special times of the church year with colours that remind us of God with us.
Pentecost (the 50th day after Easter) celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit to a group of people who were struggling and uncertain of how to live their faith. We are told that the Spirit came as a mighty wind and as dancing flames.
This is sometimes celebrated as the beginning of the Christian church.
Our Pentecost colour is mainly red, (the colour of passion and of excitement) but can also have yellows and oranges of dancing flames.
Where does the Holy Spirit dance in your story?
