Acts 17:22-31 Paul introduces the God of all people and places. John 14:15-17 Jesus and the Helper
God's not in a box

This week our scriptures remind us of God's presence in places we might not normally think of.

Acts 17:22-31 We hear Paul introducing people to a God that is the author of the world around them, not to be boxed in to buildings, not to be hemmed in by idols but to be interacted with to be part of their living forward.

John 14:15-17 Jesus assures disciples that they won't ever be left alone and that God will give them what they need to move forward into a new way of living. The Spirit of Truth will guide them.

We find ourselves outside of our safe boxes. Outside of our churches. Perhaps feeling as scared and vulnerable as the disciples did.

The listeners of these times were living through tumult, a changing world. Their attitudes and beliefs were being tested. But God met them, and meets us, where they were. We hear God's presence released into the world in ways that are different and yet just as powerful as before.

Where do you see God meeting you today?
